So I somehow stumbled across TED a week ago. I believe someone also brought it up in class a while back. TED is set up similar to youtube, however the videos are usually of people giving really interesting "talks" on a wide range of topics. I'm not exactly sure how you get to do a TED talk, but the people on here are very intelligent, innovative and quite revolutionary in there thinking. I just got a FT job for 2010-2011 lined up and was thinking that in english TED talks would be a good way to inspire some good journal/creative writing.
I will share with you some of my TED picks:
1) Jamie Oliver on Food----okay, so I love Jamie Oliver's cook books, but even more so I love his stance on unhealthy eating and processed foods. I've been watching his food revolution tv show and think it is amazing- if you haven't seen it you should. Watch this video!!!
2) This one is a 19 year old girl, talking about cancer and her theories surrounding the possibilities for cancer "cures."
